Join staff on an exclusive behind the scenes tour inside the Sydney Opera House to view areas previously only accesssible to staff and production teams. Uncover insider secrets as you wander through rehearsal spaces and backstage areas with expert guides that have witnessed the iconic Sydney Opera House play host to a series of critically acclaimed events over the years. Start with a walk through the Stage Door and walk in the same footsteps as thousands of musicians and actors have walked before taking a glimpse behind the curtain. Discover the inner workings of the working entertainment venue from pulleys to props, sequins to sound checks. Following your journey backstage, relax with a leisurely breakfast in the Green Room, exclusive domain of our cast and crew.

  • Tours operate on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday at 7am
  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the departure time

  • The duration of this experience is approximately two hours

  • This experience takes place at the Sydney Opera House at Bennelong Point, Sydney NSW 2000
Additional Information
  • There are over 300 stairs included on the tour
  • Maximum of 12 people per tour
  • Must wear enclosed footwear
  • All items must be cloaked on arrival
  • The Backstage Tour is currently only available in English
  • Please note patrons aged 12 years and over entering the Opera House building for the Backstage Tour are required to wear a face mask at all times during the tour, unless lawfully exempt. Please bring your own mask
Cancellation Policy
  • Change your booking up to 24 hours before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 24 hour of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
